new month
Well, we're starting a new month, and hopefully that means all the drama is done. I realize that just because the date changed to the 1st of a new month really doesn't matter all that much, but a guy can hope, can't he?
The TV/entertainment center issue is all resolved. The wall is painted, the old stuff is gone and the new stuff is in, and looks pretty damn good if I do say so myself. I still have one wiring issue that's a minor detail, but I'll straighten that out one day. The TV works, the DVD player works and both happen in surround sound. The CD player works and can be heard either inside or through the speakers on the back porch...so all the important stuff is doing what it should.
The youngster/girl/toilet paper episode is long behind us. The only piece of that still grates on me is the kid who pissed on the youngster's car never apologized. His mother came over and did, but she's not the one who did the deed. I know. Let it go...and I pretty much have. The fact that it doesn't seem right isn't my problem.
So on to February. Let's get through another month of winter. Hopefully I'll get the taxes done while keeping warm and no other costly surprises come our way. To put it all in perspective though, I consider myself pretty blessed. Considering the state of the world right now, all I have to whine about is having to get a new TV and a mess in the driveway. The wife and I still have jobs and have a nice roof over our heads. No earthquakes. I'm battling a cold, but no major illness. No layoffs...yet. I have a lot to be grateful for.
