you GO Will Sheridan

I watched the little school from Main Line Philly take on the #1 team in the country last night, in front of the largest crowd to ever watch a college basketball game in the state of Pennsylvania. The beginning of the second half was a bit scary, but then Allan Ray started hitting threes and Will Sheridan came up big to help carry the Villanova Wildcats to a victory over UConn.

Woooooo Hooooooo!

As a UCONN fan from Connecticut and a reader of your comments over at Reb's, I have to give it to the Wildcats for holding firm on the inside under the rim AND making the threes when it counted, when the game was on the line. The two play again, this time up at Storrs, and I, and ESPN, will be watching. Take care John.

It could have easily gone the other way. At the beginning of the second half when we were down by 12, I was hanging my head (and the youngster, a U. of Florida fan, was giving me grief) and thinking, "This is getting embarassing." Then Ray got hot and my world got a whole lot brighter. We live and die with our guards, which makes it exciting, if sometimes inconsistently scary.

I know they'll meet at least one more time and it'll be a battle.
